I need this ASA 5505 to study, but I'm very close to going full 'Office Space' on the damn thing just because of the software.

I did these steps yesterday and it worked!.but today I try to login and for some reason the issue has reared it ugly head yet again and so I'm back at square one.Īny help here appreciated. Imported SS cert to Java 'Trusted Certificates' and 'Secure Sites' Exported the Cisco SS cert from Firefox Lowered Java security to lowest ('medium') Ran down the steps in the video (only in Windows instead of OS X): The ASDM-IDM Launcher opens automatically. OK, so it's just a Java self-signed cert issue, right.not exactly, as it turns out. Choose Start > Cisco ASDM-IDM Launcher, (or Ctrl-Click) the Cisco ASDM-IDM Launcher icon, and choose Open For example, if you use port address translation (PAT), then the control unit can allocate port blocks to the planned number of members, and it will not have to reserve ports for extra units you dont plan to use. Researched the error and found this helpful YouTube video. I think my issue stems from updating Firmware on the ASA, but am not sure. I have reloaded the ASA 5505 and taken it home to my lab, but cannot login to the ASDM to manage it now. I'm trying to study to get my CCNA and the only hardware gear I have is a Cisco ASA 5505, but this program is a *joke* and not the funny kind! If the libraries required for ASDM are not intended to be there (ie, Oracle intentionally did not include them), then oh well I guess. ASDM requires Java 8, but does not work with OpenJDK 8.

I know I shouldn't wish suffering upon the developers of this program.but I do. Not sure if this is a problem for Cisco or OpenJDK it depends on where the actual problem is.
